Members of Newport's Boy Scout Troop 804 were seen painting recently at the new MAC Center for the Arts on Main Street. They did the painting of the classroom and workroom areas as one of their many community service projects and to assist MAC as it moves closer to it's opening on Nov. 17th. Scouts participating were: Trevor Morse, Thaddaeus LaPlume, Fenton Matthew, Skyler Matthew, Sean Dronia, Jacob Scott, Nick Douglass, Daniel Dagesse. Cub Scout Connor LaPlume Adults were: Liz LaPlume, Matt Matthew, Rich Dronia, Barbara Dagesse. MAC salutes these great Scouts!

While the grant from the Vermont Community Foundation and funding from the North Country and Jay Peak Area Chambers of Commerce will help significantly in getting MAC off the ground, there is much work to be done. We hope you will consider helping us on our journey and making the beginnings of the MAC Center for the Arts a Reality in the very near future with your membership in MAC or financial support.

Items that are needed:
   Easels for classroom: 50.00 each
   Tables for classrooms: 50.00 each
   Chairs for performances: 25.00 each

We hope that you will join with the other organizations, businesses and individuals who have supported us in making our vision a reality.

We are also looking for individuals to volunteer their time at the Center. We are looking for just 4 hours per month. If you enjoy the arts, enjoy meeting new visitors and artists, please consider being a volunteer. The more volunteers we have, the more hours we will be able to be open. Our goal is to be open 7 days a week.
